LEVELS OF ADVANCEMENT

Defining Levels:

New Member


A New Member is any student that is new to the GTSF Investments Committee.

    • Required to go through the Mentor Program
    • No investing of financial knowledge need

Associate


An Associate is a new member to the Investments Committee that has completed the Mentor Program by either passing the test or presenting a stock at a Tuesday meeting. An Associate regularly attends meetings, shows potential, and wants to get involved. Associates will be called upon to assist in operations and administrative activities.

    • Take on roll as Corporate Experts for stocks within the Portfolio
    • Be involved as part of a team that is working on an endeavor

Analyst


An Analyst is a member whose work significantly impacts the Investments Committee.

    • Successfully mentors a group through the prescribed five week procedure
    • Recommends stocks which are purchased by the Committee
    • Extraordinary contributions as member of a team
    • Consistent innovative, creative ideas
    • Managerial contributions supporting the membership

Senior Analyst


A Senior Analyst is a member who leads a team toward significantly impacting the Committee.

    • Investing expert having recommended multiple stocks purchased by the Committee
    • A Team Leader:
    • Portfolio Manager, a Sector Analyst
    • Earnings Data Base team leader
    • Mentor Program Leader
    • Member who undertakes an endeavor to lead a team

Director


A Senior Analyst who has validity and vision will be promoted to the highest position of the Committee, a Director. Having validity is the ability to anticipate the Committee's needs and devise a plan to drive the IC in the appropriate path. It is internalizing the Investment Committee's goals and committing to continuous improvement. The Director applies vision, forethought, and follow-through to every task of the Investments Committee.

    • A Director will be nominated to the Board of Trustees
    • Directors coordinate the Leadership meeting

Appointed Positions:

Senior Director


A Senior Director is one who either is currently or has previously served as the Senior Financial Director/Chairman or Senior Managing Director. These people are chosen to:

    • Report to the Student Foundation Board
    • Synergize team's activities on the Committee level
    • Focus the Directors and ultimately set the Quarter's goals

Advisor


An Advisor is one who has left his/her mark on the Investments Committee through various accomplishments. An Advisor establishes a mentoring relationship with the Investments Committee and aids in maintaining the highest level of excellence and consistency amongst the student leaders. An Advisor needs to identify how they can best aid the Committee and be an idea generating corporate resource in the Financial Industry.
